Discover Komon's Kiridashi Shichirin (Konro) made by Maruwa Kogyo, unique handcrafted masterpieces. Each Kiridashi Shichirin is meticulously handcrafted by cutting clay into blocks, preserving the precious air pocket trapped in the natural diatomaceous earth. This special cutting technique preserves the vacuoles and ensures excellent heat retention and remarkable lightness. The manufacturing process requires years of skill and physical strength, and due to aging craftsmen, only two companies in the world are currently able to produce these "Kiridashi" carved Shichirins. Opt for authenticity and exclusivity with Maruwa Kogyo's Kiridashi Shichirin, a true symphony of craft and culinary performance.
Shichirin (Konro) Teppan are made using the pressed construction method. As the name suggests, this method uses leftover clay (usually cuttings from the "Kiridashi" construction method) and is pressed into a mold. This method is more efficient, less expensive and more durable for making Konro. However, by using this method, the natural air holes present in Shichirin made by the "Kiridashi" method are limited. While the pressed method offers its practical advantages, Maruwa Kogyo's Kiridashi Shichirin are distinguished by their meticulous attention to detail and handcrafted authenticity, preserving the unique characteristics and outstanding performance of the "Kiridashi" construction method.
