V-Gin1 is a steel designed by Takefu Special Steel co.ltd in Tafeku Village, Echizen, Fukui. The carbon content of V-Gin1 of 0.95 to 1.05% is comparable to that of VG-10 steel. The 5% chromium content of V-Gin1 makes it a faster and more pleasant steel to sharpen than VG-10 with its 15% chromium content.
